EKSA E900 PRO - PRICE ON AMAZON -

This is the Eksa E900 pro 2 in 1 gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound. And if you think that sounds good... Wait until you see the price. Right now they are under £40 here in the UK

I recently compared the top 5 five PS5 headsets to find out which is the best overall. So, I'm using that data as my gauge to find out how good this budget-friendly headset from EKSA really is.

This review will look at the build quality, comfort, user controls, sound quality, & and at the end, I'll be going online on Warzone and getting an opinion of the mic quality from a pro gamer.

But first of all, let me show you what you get with it. You get your manuals, a vegan leather pouch with red drawstrings. A suitable length USB C cable. A 3.5mm audio jack cable & 3.5mm audio jack splitter. And a detachable mic. And, of course, the E900 pro itself.

BUILD QUALITY

As you can see, this particular set has a black & red theme to them. And out of the box, I noticed that they have a nice weight, which could be to do with the metal headband and hangers. The earcups are predominantly plastic but have a metal mesh over the back, Which will allow for better airflow for the drivers.

The drivers used are 50mm in diameter, the same size as most of the premium headsets out there today. There is a good amount of padding on the headband & the earcups. So just like the carry case, no cows were killed in the making of this product. Eksa has provided the Vegan option...

COMFORT

So when it comes to how they feel when wearing them. I must say that the E900 pro's are very comfortable. The amount of padding is just right & the earcup size is bigger enough for me to fit my big ears into. This means my ears are constantly being crushed & the seal around my ears is good, which should assist with passive noise cancelling and sound quality. The clamping force isn't too tight, and the headband has a good amount of flex to it. The removable mic is a great addition and can be shaped to rest exactly where you want it to be.

USABILITY

The Eksa E900 pro are passive gaming headphones. This means that they don't have a built-in battery and will run off your device's analogue signal. And you might be thinking, well why have they included a USB C cable? The usb C cable is for connecting these to a pc...you may need to download a driver if are using them that way.

The easier option would, of course, be the 3.5mm audio jack, which is what I tested these with. The great thing about this option is that the Eksa E900 pro can be used with Xbox series X, PS5, Nintendo switch and any device with a headphone jack.

And there's even a twist locking feature on the cable, which means if the cable is snagged, it won't snap off or damage the internals of the analogue port.

The user controls live on the left earcup and consists of a volume dial with a nice smooth bit of resistance. And a mute button that pops out when pushed and rests inwards when deactivated.

SOUND QUALITY

So, of course, having tested so many audio products in the past. I'd like to think you can trust my description of the sound quality. So here's my verdict.

The soundstage is wide, and that's likely due to the premium sized 50, drivers. So you get the sense of open spaces and distance. The response frequency is 20hz to 20Khz, a respectable and adequate range for most gaming audio.

The high ends are present, so you will be able to hear footsteps and as they get closer. The directional sound is good, I did try these with Sony's 360 reality audio demo on YouTube, and they performed well.

But the real emphasis of Eksa's sound signature seems to be the low-end sounds, the low frequencies. So when you hear in-game explosions of a car's rumbling or atmospheric sounds like thunder, the sound is quite immense, and it's in moments like this when you'll realise that the EKSA E900 pro's are a fantastic bargain and a sound investment.
