Amazfit T-Rex Pro Vs T-Rex | Best Rugged Smartwatch 2021

This is the T REX one of the most ferocious predators to ever walk the Earth... fast forward 65 million years And this the Amazfit T rex pro...a ferocious & hard wearing smartwatch & if another meteor hits the planet again...

there is a good chance this watch could survive the impact...because this watch has passed 15 different military-grade tests...

So let me show you what Amazfit T Rex Pro is all about. It has a polycarbonate body with the bezel also being polycarbonate but finished with metallic paint.

Amazfit says that they've taken this approach to keep the weight down...which is just under 60 grams.

The bezel is in a fixed position and is raised which will help prevent the screen from taking direct impacts.

The display itself is a 1.3" HD AMOLED...360x360 resolution.

which is protected by unbranded tempered glass. I would imagine, with the extremes tests that Amazfit has put this through. ...the glass is going too hard enough.

The wrist strap is comprised of silicon rubber with a sweat-wicking quality. It is a proprietary watchstrap so can't change it

There are 3 colors to chose from. There's black, blue & grey. Better be mindful of your color choice if you are about to pick one of these up...

The charger is also a proprietary cable with magnetics built-in.

if your thinking about buying this for swimming... the T rex is saltwater resistant with 10atm grade and can be submerged up to 100m...

And here is something that I like about the t rex pro its the 4 physical buttons... Yes, this has a full touch screen...but it's great that you can navigate the interface without having to touch the display... at all if you don't want to.

and these buttons are going to be very useful for swimming or any other sports that require you to wearing gloves for example m

And on that note let's take a scroll through the 100+ sports tracking options on the T Rex...I'm just going to highlight some of my favorites.

Now, this is very important...and I've always said this. The problem with smartwatches is 'when out of power they become pretty stupid'. The great news here is the Amazfit T Rex Pro can last up to 14 days on its 390mAh hour battery...

Realistically though...if you're the outdoors type and you're going to be using this continuously every day & night you're going to be looking at about half of that at 9 days...

There is an ambient light sensor on board to adjust the brightness of the screen automatically...so this should help with battery life.

However, if you activate the GPS tracking and always-on display & 24hr heart rate tracking...5 days is realistic...which is still awesome especially when you compare it to the Apple watch.

So let's talk about the GPS tracking feature. The Amazfit T REX pro can utilize 4 different satellite systems...

There is no map stored onboard the device itself... However when connected up to your phone, it will sync up your coordinates with Google maps.

so if you planning an expedition to the north pole...you can always navigate your way back...the GPS will also help to more accurately track distance and stuff like that as well.

No, let's talk about the sensors onboard. We have a 3x accelerometer and 3x gyroscope... I'm assuming these are for pitch, roll and yaw...and speed.

You've got the optical sensor which fires a bright light through your skin to measure your heart rate as well as a barometer to measure altitude, ...and a geomagnetic sensor... a compass.

And Amazfit has a bunch of trademarked tracking algorithms onboard the T rex. You've got BioTracker 2.0 for 24-hour heart rate monitoring and heart rate variability...for monitoring stress levels.

As well as exercense...which can auto-detect 8 different workouts. Just in case you forget to manually start tracking.

It's also got Amazfits Omnuscare for sleep tracking. It will detect light sleep, deep sleep and REM sleeps as well as your breathing...

And of course, you've got Amazfits very own PAI personal activity intelligence algorithm. Which gives you a score based on how active or how lazy you're being...and it will remind you and prompt you to be active.

No here are some things you need to know. The vibration motor is adequately powerful. You can set up notifications for most apps on your smartphone.

Text messages are displayed in their entirety...but you cannot reply via the watch.

There is no microphone onboard the t rex pro so can't answer phone calls on the watch... however it will vibrate to alert you.

You can sync this watch up with Strava if you want to use third-party tracking. Although I will say Amazfits official app Zepp does a good job of collating all your health tracking data into a nice easy to read format.

You can change the watch face and even create custom faces if you want. Using Amazfits Zepp app.
