CUKtech No.30 - The World's Smallest 300W Power Bank!

In the palm of my hand, I hold the world's first portable power bank that can output 300 watts of combined power. To give you some context, an Apple Macbook Pro 16" charges at 140 watts, an iPhone 14 pro charges at 20 watts, and Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra at 45 Watt & I were to charge all three here I’d still have 95 watts to spare.

And it's good that the CUKtech No.30 power cube has 5 power outputs that can be used simultaneously. And something that separates this power bank from others is that it doubles up as a USB Hub for your desktop or laptop.

So it’s safe to say that this is an advanced bit of kit. The retail price will be £250. And if you're quick, you can get a massive discount on this tech on CUKtechs Indiegogo page, and there will be a link below this video.

Battery tech

So batteries have come a long way in recent years, and a lot of power banks on sale today are still using old battery tech. But not the CUKtech No.30. This No.30 has 40,000mAh of power, that's 141Wh, which is  safe to travel with on most airlines & enough to charge an iPhone 14 around 7 times and a MacBook twice & a Nintendo Switch 7.5 times.

But how is this possible with something that is this small. Is this some kind of alien tech? Well no. The battery cells are Samsungs Electric Vehicle grade 21700 batteries. The same ones that are used in Tesla vehicles.

They're smaller, more powerful, and live longer than older batteries that most brands still use & The CUKtech no. 30 has 8 of them.

Design

So what can you do with all this power? And how can such a small power bank stay cool when pushed to the limits? Well, let me walk through CUKtech No. 30's interesting design & features.

The majority of the power bank is constructed of metal with a two-toned colour scheme. There is an attached flexible carry handle. On the base is an anti-slip material and some air vents.

On the back, you'll notice a heat dissipation pattern and a larger circular vent for the built-in PWM cooling fan. They say that this fan dynamically adjusts according to the workload, and the heat dissipation is on par with current-gen games consoles. That's cool.

Charging Options

Now flip to the front. The first USB A output is a 22.5Watt quick charge 3 port. Ideal for iPhones and nintendos. The second port is USB C with up to 100W power delivery possibilities, and the third is the big gun. It's another USB C port with up to 140 Watt power delivery, making it ideal for laptops or devices like the Xiaomi 13 pro. And the fourth port is USB A for up to 120 Watts of power delivery.

And the fifth is the 20watt Qi wireless charging coil on the top. And I like how CUKtech has added rubber grips on either side so your phone won't slip around. This surface is also perfect for earbuds & smartwatches. And check this out both the USB C ports are bi-directional, meaning that you can charge the CUKtech power bank via either port and even do so whilst using the remaining four outlets to charge other devices.

Display & Button.

While the CukTech 30 is plug-and-play and incredibly easy to use, you can toggle between a couple of different modes. The logo bar below the display is actually a button. A single click can turn the TFT display on and off.

A double push puts the power bank into Hub mode. And when in this HUB mode, you can connect it to a Laptop or desktop via USB C and then use the USB A ports for peripherals such as a mouse or USB hard drives. It is a USB 2.0 connection, so data speeds will max out at 480 Mbps, which is fast enough for day-to-day tasks.

Something else you need to know about hub mode is that this doubles up as the low current mode for devices that don't support faster charging protocols. That's a nice feature you only sometimes see on other power banks.

I'm sure you've noticed by now the really nice display. It's easy to understand and straight to the point. It shows you the current charge left numerically, and the ring around the percentage is another visual representation of that.

It will also show you the charging speed it's receiving in the lower left corner when you are recharging, and if you're wondering how long it takes to recharge its around 2 hours with a 65 Watt charger & CUKtech provides a suitable cable for this in the box. And, of course, it does display the combined output wattage. Now, let's put it to the test and see how close I can get to the 300-watt output. Watch the video to see how it performed.

Batter Safety

Now that's a lot of power flowing through this kind of energon cube & safety is priority with a product like this, I could reel off all the safety measures and certificates, but I won't! Instead, you can pause it here or head over to the link in the description to the official Indiegogo page to read them in detail. To sum it up in three words. Yeh, It's safe!

Here's my opinion on the CUKtech No.30 power bank. There are 4 boxes that need to be checked to make a product like this great. Power, Speed, Connectivity, portability. The number 30 cube ticks all the boxes… it is a heavy hitter, that's why it's slightly larger than others, but that's the trade off for this much power & if you're looking for something similar, but more compact, more portable than you need to check out the CUKtech No.20. That looks like an awesome bit of kit. If you're quick, it is also on special offer on Indiegogo.
