SONY H.EAR G - SRS-HG1 - Wireless Speaker

Today I'm looking at Sony's new portable wireless Hi Res Audio speaker. What is Hi Res Audio I hear you say. One of my first videos was actually about that. It's basically 24bit sound as opposed to 16bit. Any way let's look at the key features and come back to that. 

This new speaker looks very much like Sony's old portable speakers. It's not exactly what you would call an out of the box design, and I say that because well it just looks like a box...but anyway.

Sony say H.ear go delivers extra base and has been designed with dance music in mind. And utilizes the S Master HX digital amplifier to deliver a rich sound via its 2 drivers and central passive radiator. With the power of actually Sony haven't specified this yet. But they say it could be equal to a knockout punch from....

Now listen here Sony say this the world's smallest Hi Res Audio portable speaker which it most probably is. Although there is just one question. Can you stream full Hi Res Audio to it? The answer is sort of. It has Sony's on LDAC which might also be a Klingon swear word. LDAC allows you to stream near Hi Res Audio quality transferring data at up to 990kbps via Bluetooth. Thanks to its WiFi capabilities the H.ear speakers can be added to your sony multi-room set up using the Sony Songpal app.

So if looking for a speaker for when your on the go. Which delivers a wider frequency audio than any of its competitors and comes in multiple colours, and supports multi room and LDAC streaming, and the power to last up to 12hrs. Then you might want to go and check out the H.ear go from sony

I got just one question can you get Hi Res Audio sound quality from single mini audio jack?

Could this mean that we at getting closer to the day where we can have two days battery without choking the power usage? The answer is yes and no, because this tech will not be seen until 2020 apparently.

For now fast charging is the solution for most upcoming handsets. On that topic, the rising star company Huawei have designed a battery that can charge nearly 50% in just 5mins.

This is a GROUND breaking bit of kit from a french company. Engineered to perfection. This really takes wireless speakers to a whole new level. If you get a chance to actually hear one of these I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Devialet enjoyed this video so much so that I actually got invited to the exclusive press event in Shoreditch. Where we got exclusive access to meet developers and designers from Devialet. It was great experience and you know what... I think WhatGear might have some of the worlds only video content from that day. You might see pics elsewhere but nothing like this. I also got to meet the CEO of the company who didn't seem to like my Napoleon joke. I just wish I had prepared a few more questions.

E-Ink Shoes - This to me is WOW

ShiftWear Trainers are a new startup creating wearable tech with style in mind. This is such a good idea in my opinion.

You know when you buy a pair of shoes or trainers and find your self standing next to someone with the same shoes or trainers. If you have these shoes, you can just pull out you phone load up the app and change the design to something else.

So this means that if your an awesome artist you can have your art or even Marvel or DC fan art (known as fart) on your shoes in a blink of an eye! If you wanted to be really cheeky you could put a NIKE swoosh on the side and if someone complains you change it and be like "...what you talking about?" That to me is WOW! I would buy these if the price is reasonable.

Nokia VR Camera is $60,000

The OZO will have 8 camera, 8 Microphones, a 2K by 2K picture output with 45Min record time using 500GB internal Storage. All of that equals a hefty $60,000 price tag. Yes thats right its not cheap. The question is... is there such a demand that people would pay that much for the OZO?

AlcoDigital - Breathalysers coming to a store near you!

Earlier this year WhatGear had the opportunity to meet with the original TopGear Stig Ben Collins at the GadgetShow Live. We were lucky enough to get an interview with him and discuss AlcoDigitals consumer breathalysers. He also had a few words to say about Whatgear. So check it out!

So I thought it would be a good idea to test my lightning fast reflexes against the The Stig, and AV Dave in the Battack challenge. If you want to see how that went, check out this video. So after having let Ben Collins win and finding out that the only way can beat me at any game is when I'm drunk. We found ourselves with an opportunity to test out some AlcoDigital products in a real drinking game. So we headed to the Euston Taps in London, Euston for a few pints. SONY - FES Watch

Check it out a new Sony product to go on sale soon. It's a watch. Yes it is just a watch. who would have thought Sony would release just a watch. I mean surely it's got to have some kind if motion tracking or heart rate monitoring, a camera or something...

There is something very special about this time piece. It seems that keeping things simple and stripping an idea back to the single component that makes it good,is not a bad idea. Why do I say this? Take a look at this video.

​There was so much hype around this product. It did not live up to it. Although the E paper idea was fantastic in my opinion. So how about an entire watch including the strap made up of e paper. Which means you can change the look whenever you want.

This to me is wow and I would definitely wear one. I'm the owner of a Galaxy Neo smartwatch and despite all its functionality. I always leave the Bluetooth off. It drains my phone and watch batteries too quickly. I only use it for the look and to tell the time and it doesn't do that well.

What do you think of the Sony FES Watch? I personally don't like the name.

Xperia Z5 Shoot - BMX Pro Kris Kyle - Behind the scenes

These video's are from behind at the scenes at Red Bull Media House productions KALEIDOSCOPE shoot. Kriss Kyle the BMX pro puts his skills to the test in Glascow, whilst putting the Xperia Z5 camera to the test. Killing two birds with one stone as it were...no birds were killed during the filming of these videos.

Ok so the great thing about roller coasters are that you're buckled in with lots of padding and safety measures in place. This stunt has none of that and Kriss flies off the rail and does a back flip. Now you would't want to happen a theme park.

Now when I think Spiral. i think death spiral, spiralling to your death, that kind of thing. However the fearless Kriss Kyle tackles this spiral head on and rolls with it. Check it out all shot in 4K on the Z5. Pretty amazing

THE FALLING L - feature the Z5 Steadyshot

So if you could see me prior to attempting a stunt or even just filming one like this. My hands would certainly not be steady. Anyway this stunt is soul shakingly amazing. Check out how the Z5 handles it.
