Infinix Note 60 Pro: A First Look at the Future of Mid-Range Flagships

Right here, I have the brand-new Infinix Note 60 Pro. There are a couple of really unique and interesting features on this phone. If you've never heard of Infinix, that's because they're quite a new brand, but they are up-and-coming. I do believe that this is a phone you're going to want to take a look at.

What’s in the Box?

Unlike many modern flagship phones, the Infinix Note 60 Pro ships with a surprisingly complete set of accessories:

Premium Protective Case: This is a hard-shell case, not a flexible silicone one, and it features built-in magnets.

90W Power Adapter: The device includes a 90-watt charging brick with UK power pins.

Wired Earbuds: Infinix has included wired earbuds, which are fantastic for conference calls due to the proximity of the built-in microphone.

Charging Cable: A standard USB-A to USB-C charging cable is provided.

Design and Build Quality

The Note 60 Pro features a premium metal chassis, likely aluminium, with flat sides. The unit shown here is in Deep Ocean Blue, though an orange version with a leatherette back is also available.

Key Design Features:

  • Customizable Action Key: An additional button on the left side can be mapped to specific features.

Capacitive Camera Button: On the right side, there is a capacitive button that senses pressure, similar to the latest iPhone designs.

IP64 Rating: The phone has an official rating for dust and water resistance, supported by a rubber gasket around the dual SIM tray.

JBL Tuned Audio: The device features dual speakers tuned by JBL, which provide volume and bass levels competitive with the iPhone.

IR Blaster: An infrared blaster is located at the top of the device for remote control functionality.

Dual-Display Innovation

The display setup on this device is truly impressive, featuring both a high-end front panel and a hidden rear display.

The Main Display

The front features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (1080 x 2436 pixels). It supports a 144Hz refresh rate for fluid animations and gaming, and it can reach a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. For eye comfort, it includes 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker and eye strain.

The Active Matrix Rear Display

Built directly into the camera module is a dot matrix LED screen. It is completely invisible when not in use but can display real-time weather, the time, and notification indicators. Interestingly, you can even play pre-installed minigames on this tiny display using the phone's accelerometer or side buttons.

Camera Capabilities

The rear camera island is designed to be edge-to-edge, which helps reduce "table rock" when the phone is lying flat.

  • Primary Lens: A 50-megapixel "Night Master" camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).

    Ultra-Wide: An 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter.

Macro/Depth: A 2-megapixel depth sensor that also doubles as a macro lens.

    Selfie Camera: A high-resolution 50-megapixel front-facing camera.

Video: Supports maximum video quality of 4K at 30 frames per second.

Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood, the Note 60 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. This represents a massive leap over the previous generation, with a 210% increase in GPU performance and a 78% faster CPU.

Battery and Charging

The device utilises a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Infinix promises a battery lifespan of up to six years.

  • Wired Charging: Up to 90W speeds.

Wireless Charging: Up to 33W speeds, compatible with magnetic charging pucks when using the included case.

Reverse Charging: Supports both wired and wireless reverse charging to power other devices.

Thermal Management

To handle gaming, Infinix included a 3D Ice-Cold cooling system, which is an advanced vapor cooling chamber. In testing, the phone reached only 36.5°C after a full game of PUBG, successfully avoiding thermal throttling.

Software

The phone runs on XOS 16 (based on Android), featuring a "liquid glass" design aesthetic. Since it is 2026, the software is packed with AI features, including a dedicated AI settings section for various tasks. While there is some pre-installed bloatware, the animations remain super fluid.
